The Björk.Eklund Group AB strengthens its position in Norway with the acquisition of a majority interest in Conmel Norway A/S.

The Björk.Eklund Group, which is active both in liner agency and forwarding/logistics, has increased its commitment to the Norwegian market through the acquisition of Klippan Shipping AB, a Swedish company that owns two-third of the share capital of Conmel Norway A/S.

Subsidiaries of Conmel Norway include Nica A/S, agents for Evergreen Marine Corporation and Hatsu Marine Corporation; Nic-frieght, an nvo; Scan-Ship, agent for Lloyd Triestino.

Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden the Björk.Eklund Group is extremely keen to establish for itself a firm presence in both Denmark and Norway. Co-founder of the company Björn Eklund explains:

"We are working every day with companies large and small around the world and we are very conscious of the fact that many of the people we deal with see Scandinavia as a single trading area. They really do not differentiate between Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Therefore we decided that we would expand our operations into Denmark and Norway so that we can provide our customers and partners with coverage of Scandinavia as a whole"
