Gunnar Ström joins Björk.Eklund Group AB


The Björk.Eklund Group strengthens its top management team with the appointment of Gunnar Ström

Gunnar Ström, who has been a non-executive member of the board of Björk.Eklund Group since 2000, is to join the company on a full-time basis on 1 October 2004. As Managing Director of Björk.Eklund Group AB, Mr Ström will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Group's 'back office' functions including financial management, organinsation, IT and Human Resources.

Mr Ström takes over from Stefan Björk, co-founder of the Bjork.Eklund Group, who now assumes the title of Chairman. With less administrative responsibilities, Mr Björk will be free to devote more of his time to new business projects geared to broadening the range of the Group's activities.

Mr Björk's partner, Björn Eklund, continues as Managing Director of Greenship Sweden AB with overall responsibility for Björk.Eklund's largest single client, the Evergreen Group, for the Group's liner agency company Scandinavian Shipping Agencies AB, headed by Managing Director Stuart Smith, and for the Group's activities in Denmark.

Werner Stoppenbach, formerly Executive Vice President and Director of Marketing at the Port of Gothenburg, remains as non-executive Chairman of the Björk.Eklund Group.
