GAC Logistics, a division of the transportation group Gulf Agency Company, opens new offices in Sweden and Denmark to accelerate the growth of its international logistics business.

The new head offices located in Gothenburg, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark, will provide not only direct access to the Scandinavian markets and the EU, but also serve as important gateways to new markets in the Baltic Area and Eastern Europe for GAC.

Commencing 1 October 2002, both countries will provide a full range of logistics and freight forwarding services.

“GAC sees tremendous market opportunities in the Scandinavian areas. In line with our global growth strategy to expand businesses and increase our geographical reach, we recognise the values of setting up dedicated offices in Scandinavia,” said Mr Stefan Ljungh, General Manager, GAC Logistics, Sweden.

“Being strategically closer to our customers, GAC is able to provide timely and cost-effective logistics solutions. By providing better coverage, it also allows the Group to market its services more aggressively and directly to global partners,” he added.

As key distribution hubs for Northern Europe, the two countries have been consistently ranked in international surveys as among Europe’s most efficient logistics centres in terms of distribution and advanced infrastructure. Boosted by their world-class air and sea ports, the transportation sectors have also enjoyed high growth rates in the recent years.
